How often do you deliver?
We deliver once a week to your residence. The specific day of the week depends on which route you are on.

What if I am going to be out of town one week and I have a standing order?
You will need to call (or email) us and cancel your delivery for that week. You must notify us by 11AM 2 business days prior to your delivery day.

What if I forget until the day before?
Tell your neighbor to drink it for you- we might get another customer! No Neighbors? Then please let us know. That way we will not leave the products at your house-we don't like to waste milk. Depending on our downstream orders, we may be able to save your order for other customers. If not, you will be billed but we will try to donate your milk to a local homeless shelter.

What if I am not home when you deliver?
We will leave your products in your cooler or you can purchase our Mr. Milkman galvanized insulated milkbox. If it is warm outside, you may request that the driver put ice in your cooler to keep the milk cool.

What if the weather is bad or a breakdown occurs and you can't deliver?
It is rare but once in a while we do get ice or deep snow on our delivery days. We will send out an email and post a note on our website if we are delaying the delivery. We normally can deliver the following day but we will keep you posted on the status of our deliveries.

Where does the milk come from?

All the glass bottled milk is obtained from local dairy farms within 25 miles and processed at a local creamery in Chambersburg, Pa. Some of those farms are Pa certified as organic and that is where the organic milk comes from.

Does this milk have rBST (growth hormone) added?
No. None of the milk products have rBST added. Or antibiotics or any other hormones.

What is creamline milk?
Creamline milk has been pasteurized to remove the bacteria but it is not homogenized, therefore all the cream rises to the top of the bottle. There is some evidence to suggest that unhomogenized milk is actually healthier and keeps our blood vessels cleaner.

So what is homogenization?
It is a high pressure process that mixes the cream into the milk in very small globules so it cannot separate back into cream.

Are all pasteurization processes the same?
No! Some companies use the UHT process which heats the milk to 280 degrees and therefore the milk is good for 55 days.  This process was developed to allow companies to store milk for longer periods and increase their profits. Doesn't quite sound fresh to us!
The Chambersburg creamery uses the HTST process which only takes the temperature to a maximum of 180 degrees-enough to kill any bacteria but does not make the milk sterile - resulting in a much healthier product.

Does it make a difference whether cows eat grain or grass?
Cows were made to eat grass and grass fed cow products have much higher CLA levels than grain fed cows-almost 6 times higher. The cows are out in the fresh air, eating grass and staying healthier and happier. The creamery only uses milk from dairy farms that let their cows graze-it makes for a better milk product-the way milk is supposed to taste.
